FORT WORTH, Texas (August 16, 2012) - The Tony Stewart "Smoke Show," an annual fantasy stock-car camp at Texas Motor Speedway hosted by NASCAR's three-time Sprint Cup Series champion, celebrated its fifth year Wednesday by reaching the $1 million milestone for funds raised for Speedway Children's Charities-Texas Chapter.

FORT WORTH, Texas (March 6, 2012) – Foreigner lead singer Kelly Hansen announced Tuesday at Texas Motor Speedway’s annual Media Day that the band will perform a special acoustic concert Monday, April, 9, to benefit Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas and officially kick off the Samsung Mobile 500 NASCAR race week.
The Foreigner Acoustique – Classics Unplugged private benefit concert, featuring Hansen and two other band members, will be held at the new Flying Saucer venue – formerly 8.0’s – in Fort Worth’s Sundance Square beginning at 7 p.m. CT. The trio will perform the unique acoustic versions of several of Foreigner’s greatest hits at the outdoor venue including “I Want To Know What Love Is,” “Double Vision,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” and “Feels Like The First Time,” among others.

Speedway Children’s Charities participated in the Daytona 500 Watch Party held at Texas Motor Speedway this past Sunday, February 26th. SCC enjoys attending events like these because it gives us a chance to interact with NASCAR fans and allows us to promote future SCC events that may interest them!

Speedway Children’s Charities at Texas Motor Speedway is excited that Ben E. Keith will be returning for the 12th year to sponsor our Tree Lighting and Grant Ceremony. The holiday spirit continues with the help of Santa Claus, as we light the largest living Christmas tree in Texas and honor those receiving grants in the North Texas area. The program begins at 6pm. Following the ceremony all guests are invited to participate in one complimentary trip through the Gift of Lights, a 1.7-mile route of sparkling holiday displays made with over 1 million energy-efficient LED lights, all within the comfort of your own car.

Hallie Bea is 3 years old, and has been diagnosed with Diamond Blackfan Anemia. Diamond Blackfan Anemia is a very rare bone marrow failure. Hallie’s family has been tested and are not a match for little Hallie.

Speedway Children’s Charities at Texas Motor Speedway supports the healing counseling that sexually abused girls and boys ages five through sixteen receive at Alliance For Children. Through the sixteen week group counseling curriculum children learn that they are not alone, that other children have gone through similar experiences and that together with other children in the group they will heal.

Celebrity chefs Mario Batali, Guy Fieri and Tim Love, along with Foreigner’s lead singer Kelly Hansen, have taken to YouTube with videos fueling the rivalry leading up to the Asphalt Chef grilling competition at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, Nov. 6, that will benefit the Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter and the Mario Batali Foundation.

Fans will have the opportunity to determine the secret ingredient for the Asphalt Chef charity grilling competition featuring celebrity chefs Mario Batali, Guy Fieri and Tim Love scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6, at Texas Motor Speedway.
Fans will choose from a pre-determined ingredient from the major food groups of meat, fish and dairy with the three being Gulf shrimp, New York cheddar cheese and pork.

The "Smoke Show" remains the highest-grossing, single-day event for the Speedway Children's Charities-Texas Chapter.

Since 2000, Speedway Children's Charities has donated more than $48,000 to the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth, with a majority of those funds applied towards the agency's "Meals of the Heart" program.
Companies, local restaurants, civic organizations, schools, churches and other volunteer groups provide dinner for houseguests. Most of the overnight guests at the Ronald McDonald House spend many long hours at Cook Children's, and are often comforted upon their return by a hot, nutritious meal served with a smile. -

The overwhelming majority of the more than 1,200 children that have participated in this program since its inception had never owned a bicycle of their own. Others had never experienced the thrill of receiving a brand new bike.

01/23/06More than 300 people enjoyed the sparkle of the Fort Worth Holiday Tree donated by Texas Motor Speedway and Speedway Children's Charities on Friday, November 25th. A record $486,000 was distributed to more than 100 local non-profits, making the 9th Annual Grant Ceremony and Tree Lighting the biggest in the history of the chapter. The tree will be set in Sundance Square throughout the holiday season.
