Fans can enjoy the thrill of racing their personal vehicle around Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday while helping North Texas children in need through Speedway Children's Charities as the Texas chapter hosts Laps for Charity II.

For a $30 donation, fans will get the opportunity to drive on Texas Motor Speedway's high-banked, 1.5-mile oval for three laps - rain or shine - as they follow the lead of a Texas Motor Speedway pace vehicle. Eighteen car clubs are set to participate beginning at 5 p.m., and those groups will be followed by laps for the general public from 7-10 p.m.

Another special opportunity will come in Texas Motor Speedway's Victory Lane, where participants will have the opportunity to take a photo in Victory Lane with their vehicle for an additional $10.

"It's not every day we let our fans drive their car around Texas Motor Speedway so for them to experience the 25-degree banking in the corners in their personal vehicle always provides them with a memorable experience," Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said. "And it's always great that they can have fun and help a wonderful organization in Speedway Children's Charities at the same time."

Special VIP packages also are available that include a reserved time for a five-lap driving session, photo in Victory Lane, two event T-shirts, two-week trial membership to The Speedway Club and dinner for two in The Speedway Club that evening for $250. A limited number of VIP packages are available and must be purchased in advance by contacting Speedway Children's Charities at (817) 215-8421.

Over the course of 13 years, Laps for Charity has helped raise more than $500,000 for Speedway Children's Charities - Texas Chapter. This event is one of several major fundraising opportunities it hosts throughout the year to benefit the children of Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties.
