Speedway Children's Charities-Texas Chapter raised $541,200 for children in need in North Texas as a result of its Dickies 500 race week activities.

The Beretta Celebrity Clay Shoot Presented by Coors Light, which featured NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Bobby Labonte, three-time Indianapolis 500 champion Johnny Rutherford, Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief and other celebrities, topped all the events by raising $155,000.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Sam Hornish Jr. hosted his fifth annual AutoTrader.com Sam Hornish Jr. Celebrity Bowling Tournament Presented by Main Event that featured Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle, 2004 Sprint Cup Series champion Kurt Busch and Hall of Fame pro bowler Del Ballard Jr. also topped six figures and raised $101,500.

Other events and fundraisers included the Speedway Children's Charities Track Walk with Sprint Cup rookie driver Joey Logano, Live NASCAR Memorabilia Auction, Texas Motor Speedway Fire and Rescue Auction, Jeff Gordon Corvette Raffle, a corporate driving school event with Team Texas and proceeds from ZZ Top DVD sales sold in the speedway's grandstands before the Dickies 500.

Since 1997, Speedway Children's Charities-Texas Chapter has distributed more than $5.7 million in funding to children's organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The funds distributed by Speedway Children's Charities are raised through special events held throughout the year. The majority of the SCC events are centered on the three major race weeks at Texas Motor Speedway.
